Lars Swedenborg

As a draftsman, Swedenborg remains devoted to his imagery of nature. His gargantuan semi-abstract paintings of fruit and flowers are credited with merging process art with the still life tradition. While his works are fundamentally representational, their scale, palette, contrast, material, and cropping render them almost abstract. Although his still life’s share formal similarities of volume, texture and richness, that’s the way he works, when a flower is never just a flower and a fruit isn’t the organic shape that nature alone provides. All his works express the love to the world of nature.
